Carbs and protein

When you are counting carbs how do u include protein if the packet says 0g my bloods always raise after a chicken salad and i am unsure how to calculate protein into carb ratios HELP!!! I am gonna try halfing the protein amd adding it to the carb would that work??

I generally go for 50%. Seems to work for me at least.
