Decided to start the new year with some low carb eating, with increased fat....well afraid it's not for me the pounds just piled back on, it's back to being a medium carb diet eating a bit of everything and back to low fat....it was working before need to get back in control now...just sharing that we are all so different in relation to the way our diet body and weight loss works, best wishes all Kat x

Oh heck Kat, I am sorry:(. I thought you were doing ok. Maybe one of the other more experienced low carbers will come and give you some help. I'm not losing now, but not gaining either and as my BG is better than ever I'm happy low carbing. Please take care x

Hi. This is really interesting and different from the experience of many others but if it works for you; great. Can you give us some idea of the sort of foods you were having whilst low-carbing and what carbs you generally have now?

I just have what I have been having for the past year, a little amount of potatoes, rice pasta etc, and low fat yogurt ww, small grannery roll with homemade soup....I am a strict veggie and this seemed to work for me. I am not a low carber but I gave it a go.
I will now stick to medium carbs and low fat.....
I lost 3 stones on this diet, just smaller portions etc, now by Turing low carb for the last 4 wks the weight gain is not good...
Puffy face came back it was awful, increasing fat was not a good idea, no gall bladder, so problems, felt really sick...
Back to old routine tomorrow my meals will be

Oats with almond milk

Veggie roast, love the veg and a few potatoes
Apple crumble with no sugar.....homemade

Might make a pot of lentil soup as well it will freeze well

Love to bake sugar free muffins as well also sconces, think they gave me more engery.....then more walking....much better for me x

Stick to what works for you. I low fat, and portion control, it gives me good bs, and keeps my weight where I want it to be as well.

sorry things arent going so well :( were the foods you mentioned part of our low carbing?

Hi Andy, just thought I would give it ago, it was just not the right thing for me, start to get back on track now still healthy eating though, but more medium carbs for my main meal....think my body is used to low fat, veggie food, giving up the sugar allowed me to loose the weight...x low carbs made me feel very unwell, just did not work for my body and it's health x

Hi Kat, I don't have a gall bladder either so can't tolerate high fat. I'm gradually working on a diet which is low fat and carbs of between 100g and 150g. There is such a lot to learn! But my weight is reducing by about a kilo a week which is important, and my bg levels are mostly between 5+ and under 7.

:eek:Have just remembered I don't have a gall bladder either, lol. It was removed in 1978. Prior to having it removed I couldn't tolerate fat but haven't had any problems with it since

Low fat yogurt ww = is that weight watchers? I don't think they do a veggie yogurt. The Fage Greek yogurt 0% is great if you are cutting fat and tastes just like the full fat I reckon. All the best to you, Kat :)

Sorry, my bad. I just noticed that the new ww Greek style ones are ok, just not the original ones.

. Honestly, I really really had forgotten! Wish you lot could see my face now, I'm glowing with embarrassment! A few months ago I had to give my medical history at a gynae appointment and after the initial low down on opps etc we were going through my meds and the consultant asked why I was on atenolol, ramipril and aspirin etc..... then I realised I'd forgotten to tell him I'd had a heart attack and subsequent surgical intervention in 2000:banghead:.... I thought he was going to choke, lol. I tend to live one day at a time. Maybe not always the best way to get though this life but.....:bag:
