Hi, I'm due a heart check-up later today. Does anyone know what it will involve please? I'd like to know what to expect.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Sorry, can't help you on that one as there are so many different investigations. Did they send you any information about what to expect?
Suffice to say, you have to allow them to do anything so make sure they fully explain what and why they want your consent before you actually consent. The other thing to consider is what you would do with the results.

as already said ,there are many different checks that could be made, i have had most of them and normally if it was a procedure u would have been told what to expect so try not to worry :D

Thank you for your responses, unfortunately, I have no idea what to expect. I was just told that now that I have been diagnoised as a diabetic for a year they wanted to put me on statins and then see this cardiologist . I haven't taken the statins.
I'm not on any medications and control my blood sugar by diet. My last blood test was a month ago and my hbac1 was 6.3.
I just thougt this was an annual check-up that all diabetics had to have and wondered what to expect, sorry, I now realise everyone is different and each have their own problems they deal with.
Just me being thoughtless.

Hi Susie.

You are not being thoughtless. We are here to answer your questions. It is just that we sometimes need specific information. When you find out what sort of test or tests you may have just come back and ask.

Ken. :D

noooo,
you werent being thoughtless at all, no question is silly, im interested to see what goes on there for you , let us know how u get on x

Thank you all, I will let you know, must admit, I'm a bit nervous, had so many different tests and things so far this year, should be used to it by now. Thanks again.

Hi again, Back from the cardioligist, all went well, good in fact.
Had an eco cardiogram, blood pressure and that was about it. She did say she'd like me to do a test under pressure, treadmill, I think, but, wait for it, the first available appointment for that is the 24th November.
And I live in France, where it is supposed to be a better health service. Last week I had my eye appointment, the waiting list for one of those is 12 to 15 months.
Still, all is well, thank you everyone.
