Yes and for me it was appropriate. The moment I put on the extra pound to put me up from seriously obese to morbidly obese, I got health problems.....extremely high blood pressure, reduced kidney function, worse asthma, then eventually a problem with my heart rhythm and diabetes. I was put on various drugs for all of these (the most at one time was 6) and had 4 hospital procedures for my heart. Now I am back in the seriously obese range I have managed to give up all these drugs,( the only one I take now is a different one for depression) my diabetes is under control , my asthma is better and my heart rhythm and BP are normal.Morbidly obese is a medical term not a slur. It is when you BMI is over 40
So what I'm really saying is take it one step at a time, don't try to think of getting into the 'normal' BMI range yet, just moving one step back into the seriously obese BMI range (35-40) will benefit your health tremendously. Once you are there you will be like me and have a new lease of life and be looking forward to being 'only obese'.
