My daughter is getting the pump in a couple if weeks and her school uniform has no pockets. She can attach the pump to the side of her skirt but was just wondering how she could carry her testers and glucotabs. Do you test less on the pump and could she leave it in her class? M

I normally carry my glucotablets and tester around with me at all times in my bag. However If I could leave them in the classroom then I would because I don't really NEED them all of the time, BUT because she will be new the pump her blood sugar levels with be probably different than usual so she will probably experience more hypos and hypers. So it would be a good idea for her to carry them round with her...maybe in a small bag or something?

Hello Blondie153 .

Just an idea for your daughter to carry her bits about without it looking 'odd' .
Would a funky colourful pencil case be suitable ?

She can choose her own and put some stickers onto it if she wishes :)
This can be put easily into her main school bag too .
[maybe with a cheery sticker on it, possibly letting the teachers know this
case has her essential bits in it should there ever be a hypo needing treating ]
Then "all can help" recognise this is what is needed 'when' necessary .

Hope this can help .

Anna.

I use a small Fossil case to carry my stuff, it's a bit like a pencil case but comes in lots of colours and designs and looks good, she might like it.
