Hello I am a newbie and its about my cat . I have seen some chat info on cat diabetes on the site but cant find it now. My cat is overweight and is on DM diet for a couple of months and I have only just begun to see a good weight loss in him. He has been borderline in that time but now his count is up despite the weight loss. I dont know if it would have a big impact but I was away last week and a friend staying fed him, some other food including the DM food, my fault I didnt tell her that was the ONLY thing he could eat just assumed she would realise. The thing is, he is not drinking much, he is losing weight now, and generally seems ok. Does anyone think that carrying on with his diet for a bit longer will do any harm, the ver has suggested insulin but I am reluctant to do this as he shows no symptoms really. He is 15. I feel a bit of extra info would help me make a decision.

Not being funny but this is a Forum for Human Diabetic's not Animals. We therefore do not encourage people who have Diabetic Pets to post about it here. There are several excellent websites where you will get good information and help about the subject.

Here is the previous locked thread about this. Suggest you have a read and perhaps join the websites/forums mentioned.

Under the circumstances we will be locking this thread also.
