I am extremely upset, why a cgm doesn't work well for me ?
My last hba1c was 28 and it has always been low from 31 to 28 I am still in honeymoon phase which can last upto 13 years. I just get extremely anxious after my experience with Libre and I just don't trust the cgm. Has anyone got any advice or has anyone not use a cgm would be great full of advice
Hi I am still honeymoon phase I hardly take any insulin n only a very small amount if I'm have a high carbon meal like pasta or pizza. The libre was always inaccurate I was always in pain with it and the adhesive never stuck it would last 24 hours and fall off.Ok that is a really low HbA1c, am unsure how you have achieved it but can you explain more about your experience with the libre ? As you don't detail what this experience was ?
The libre doesn't work well for everyone. (I stopped using the libre 1 because I became allergic to it). If my hba1c was as low as yours my team would be very concerned about hypos. Do you have good hypo awareness and are you getting a lot of hypos?Hi I am still honeymoon phase I hardly take any insulin n only a very small amount if I'm have a high carbon meal like pasta or pizza. Yes I have extremely good hypo awareness and usually catch it in itself 4.8s but I tend not to have a lot of them only if my insulin needs change or I do something stupid like forget to eat somethingThe libre doesn't work well for everyone. I don't think there for me to be honest I am currently wearing a g6 but I hate it with passion I really don't think for now it's for me maybe when I am out of the honeymoon phase I may go back on it.In regards to accuracy I use the Dexcom but as a stand alone CGM so I never use it alongside a BG meter as it doesn't need calibrating, I only experience pain very rarely upon insertion but that only lasts around 15 mins or so as it settles down, I wear it on the back of my arm so on an area with a good pad available, picking sites is important, in regards to falling off, they rarely do but you can wear stickers on them as well as tegaderm and other means, if you're active or swim alot it's a good idea to wear a sticker on it, I wasn't a fan of libre but more to do with accuracy than anything, I am a devout Dexcom G6 user now for over 4 years.
