Hello

Is there a continuous or flash glucose sensor that can take measurements without being connected to a phone and store the readings somewhere temporarily or permanently from where I can download them every night e.g. from a website or by connecting my mobile at night only?

In other words, I do not want to have the sensor paired with my mobile to be able to take e.g. few hours measurements.

It would be great if I do not have to buy an expensive 'reader' or something, or if I have to, which would be the cheapest? Perhaps a third party compatible or something?

Thanks!

An interesting question.
I believe the libre 1 used to store the last 8 hours on the sensor and you could then download that to the reader when you scanned it?

Nothing to stop you disabling the bluetooth link in a more modern phone and then turning it back on when you download the readings, but am not sure how long the memory on a sensor is?

The current Libre 2 is the same. It stores 8 hours of data on the sensor.
Obviously, without a reader nearby, you miss alerts but if this is not important and you can scan every 8 hours, you do not have to have a reader nearby.
When you scan with a phone, if you are connected (by WiFi or mobile data) , the last 8 hours are uploaded to the Cloud and can be accessed by LibreView.com.

Yes the libre 2 stores 8 hours, but my question would be why would you want to wait? The point of them is to have information as early as possible.
If I only scanned once every 8 hours, I would have forgotten what I did in that ime, and I like noting the foods and exercise I've done, especially if new or unusual. It takes2 seconds to scan each time and is quite discreet

Maybe the OP has a job where they aren't allowed to take a mobile in? Jury duty???
I can think of a number of possible reasons why one might want to wait, though for me (a T1 who goes hypo) I love my alerts.

I’ve had a few jobs involving a no mobile rule. The room seems to shrink for most bosses when I mention why I carry it. & they back off. I reassure them it’s never going to be used “recreationally.” One manager stopped me explaining once when I flashed the white disc. “Say no more,” she said, “my daughter is type one.” ;)
Though some high security jobs like prisons are a no no.. I’ve done contract work in a women’s jail.. (you check em in a box going in & retrieve when leaving..)

Something like the Watlaa stand alone watch (which is a basic 3rd party timepiece with a stripped down xDrip firmware.) in conjunction with a BT bridge would be a way to monitor without a phone with silent vibrating alarms. (Is possibly the only thing I can think of, off hand..) But there is no function to upload to anything let alone librelink. (From the device.)

Thanks, sometimes the phone may run out of battery or I may forget it etc.
But if Libre2 can store last 8h data, how can you trigger it to measure glucose during these 8h without a phone/reader?

My understanding is that it takes 1 minute readings, consolidates them into 'statistically smoothed' 15 minute readings which it stores in a rolling 8 hour memory. When you 'scan' you pick up the whole of the 8 hours, or since you last did it (if less than 8 hours).

The 'smoothing' gets rid of the huge fluctuations that you can see in the minute by minute readings which are a bit scary. For instance when I shower my indicated BG can easily rise by 3 or 4 mmol, and then fall again all within a few minutes. I don't know if it is real BG or sensor reaction. Anyway LibreLink hides all that.

Edit: added bit in parenthesis
