Put on a new CGM last night but didn’t scan the applicator until I got up. Question is why have I only got readings from 04:40 this morning and not last night when I put the the CGM on at 19:28??

Because you need to scan the sensor to start it. I'm assuming you got up at 4:40 this morning.

No you should still get readings on insertion. You just don’t see the readings until you scan the QR code on the applicator. Well that’s normally what happens. Nah 04:40 is too early for me!

As @Antje77 states @Neckarski_94 the scan activates the sensor. If the sensor is not activated then it doesn't 'switch on'. It's as if it is still in the box.

Well normally I put the sensor on the night before. Scan it in the morning and get all readings from when I inserted it (no warm up period) and during the night when I’m asleep. On this occasion I got up scanned and only got readings from 04:40 onwards!
