good afternoon i would like to know how I can get a CGM as im having trouble getting my hba1c down. i have been a type 1 for 37 years and i work in a very stressful job. My diabetes is controlled well not many lows maybe one every few months. My hba1c was 85 last time i went to the hospital and i have been struggling to get it any lower. Please can you help one very tired stress out lady. Thank you

Buy one. A cgm doesn't require a prescription, just get in touch with the supplier of your chosen cgm and purchase.

You are unlikely to get nhs funding for a cgm to try and get your hba1c down. They might consider pump therapy if that's not already being tried.

You are unlikely to get NHS funded cgm unless you are losing/have lost hypo symptoms.

You say your diabetes is well controlled, so how come your HbA1c is so high?

Are you carb counting? If not, ask to go on a DAFNE course as this would help tremendously.

Have you basal tested and made any appropriate adjustments?

Is it just the stress that's affecting your BGs?

Has the clinic suggested using a pump?

A bit more information will help us to help you. Has your DSN suggested anything?
