CGMs

I managed to fund mine for a year with economical use of sensors :) It was a struggle though so had a look round and found a charity/benevolent fund that was more than willing to fund sensors and a transmitter for me. The sensors are life changing.
Thanks Carbs, I wouldn't know where to start with that to be honest

Right so lines is 20 minutes behind is that for all c g m s? There are alarms for high and low on dex but not lib? Dex takes reading every second so you can chart it? But lib doesn't? Lib you can find your current bg? And whether bg will increSe or decrease due to the amount of insulin in your body? For me I am trying to find one that will help me reach my dream of exercising for one hour especially swimming. Are the c g m s ok in water?

Yes the sensor is waterproof as is the transmitter, stand alone receiver is not though for the Dex. I can not say for other makes.
The Animas pump is waterproof and that has the receiver built in to it so that's fine :)

Sometimes water can get behind the transmitter and lay in the clear plastic housing that sticks to the skin with sensor wire. This will interupt the signal a tiny bit until the water evaporates with body heat. The transmitter can be removed carefully with the plastic tool supplied or use thumb nails to pull apart the grips that hold the transmitter in place and using the corner of a piece of tissue, dip it in the water to act as a wick to mop up, wipe the transmitter dry and then press it back on to the sensor again to resume transmission. Make sure not to touch the area where the 2 black dots are on the clear plastic as that is where the sensor wire is

Did a search on Skin Tac in Australia and all I got was liquid nails, that'll hold it in place!
Might have to import it, I see there are swabs and liquid, which works better?

Probably the liquid is better as the swabs can dry out in the packaging if not used for a while. Might be best to keep them in the fridge to prevent them going hard in the packets esp in hot temperatures.
