Change gp and got different insulin

I just change gp surgery as couldnot get on with old gp my new gp surgery has prescribed humulin m3 kwikpen but I'm on humulin I kwikpen do I tell them that they prescribed the rong one is there any different don't now much about different insulin a as on been on insulin since August I think lost track of time it goes so fast
 
You definitely need to get in touch and tell them as they are really quite different insulins, humulin I is a medium/long acting insulin but m3 is a mixture of 2 different insulins with different timings, so they require different dosing and timings. Do you have enough of the humulin I left until you can sort a new prescription?
 
I would get on to them tomorrow and ask them to reissue the correct prescription before you run out! I know someone who was prescribed the right one but the chemist gave the wrong one and she didn't realise for a few days but was struggling with both highs and bad lows so it is really important to get the right one.
