Welcome the Asian wasp coming to Britain soon. Met one of these in Germany, it was a very brief meeting.

it is indeed an Asian hornet (confirmed via Mr Google) but what ever it is we don't want it here!

We had European hornet nest in our house at one point , slightly smaller that the Asian giant hornet but quite a sight. Unfortunately it's illegal to kill them in Germany so we had to catch them and move them to more suitable locations.

I wouldn't fancy being dive bombed by one of them!!

In the summer we used to get wasps nests in the loft and they were bad enough! The little horrors would find every crack or hole round the water pipes to invade the house, and I was even stung on the back of the neck by one in the middle of the night when I was fast asleep! :wideyed: I'd never been afraid of them before but the shock and disorientation of being "attacked" by one in the dark in the safety of my own bed made me very cautious and apprehensive around them for a long time afterwards - especially in the bedroom! :D:(

I wonder of we could have HEXIT hornets out vote on this too?

Leave the poor Waspy-hornet-thingy alone! :-)
