Hi folks,

Have any of you noticed that your blood sugar number can be high if you have eaten a sweet snack or carb
(e.g. 8.8) and in only 40 minutes it declines to 5.3 or so, if you stop eating and wait for about 40 minutes or so. When I read about
blood sugar ranges, other variables such as these are rarely discussed in diabetes web sites in bg charts and side effects.

Yes I actually have noticed that myself. I thought it seemed odd but at the same time I was happy that it returned to the 5's so quickly although in regards to myself it goes down quicker if it is something sweet as opposed to starchy carbs.

I agree Ratbags, but I am curious as to the rate the blood glucose will continue to go down at an unknown speed. I think that this is really something for endocrinologists. Also, the range between a high and a low must be due to the amount and type of food.
