Changing from Levemir to Insulatard

When I was switched AWAY from insulatard many years ago, I was told that Lantus was better because it had a flatter profile, and the nurse said that the problem with insulatard is that "the absorption is erratic." However, according to what you say, things were erratic with levemir too.

I am wondering how far you take into account your levels of physical activity, and variations from day to day. That can be a major cause of erratic results. And if that's a factor for you, insulatard could make things worse not better.

Have you learned how to vary basal rates according to activity?
