Hi Guys.

I have been having a lot of hypos recently even on minimum dose of insulins (novorapid 3 x before meals and Lantus at night). I don't get enough support at the hospital I am at moment and I need to change the hospital. Can anyone throw a light on how I can do this? I don't seem to get any support from anywhere. I recently had 15 hypos in one day, and when I speak to my specialist they just don't seem to do anything.
type 2 insulin dependet. Diagnosed in 2006.

It is now one of your rights as an NHS patient to choose the hospital that treats you. Ask your GP to be referred to the hospital and consultant of your choice.

We recently changed hospital for my daughters diabetes care. I did some research on the internet first to choose where I wanted to go and then made an appointment with my GP. She was very supportive of my request for a referral to another hospital and made the necessary arrangements and first appointment on my behalf.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the guidance. I have now researched which hospital I want my daughter to be transferred to and make an appointment with my gp.
Will let you know how I got on.
