I am flying to the Philippines which is 8hrs ahead of the U.K.

At the moment I do 13 units of my basal insulin at 7am and 15 units at 10pm.

Not quite sure how to alter doses for the new time zone....

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @nedboyd1967

Not sure how much help this will be as I use mixed insulin but also have a rapid acting insulin pen.

We unexpectedly had to go to Manila between Christmas and New Year. I've been several times and always had a problem with this 15hr flight time plus a longish stopover in the Middle East depending on your airline.

What's your departure time from the UK? Do you have a long stopover in Doha, Dubai or Singapore, or do you have a direct flight?

This latest time I tried to inject as normal for breakfast (17:00 flight) and then do my best to stay clear of carbs for the flights. Airline meals always seem to come with bread and or rice so I arrived hungry but my BG level stayed below double figures with just a bit of rapid acting insulin. I then started over with a new timetable on the first full day there.
