I ate at Chao Baby restaurant in the Trafford Centre Manchester at the weekend. Of the below dishes, which would you go for if you were Type 2 or Prediabetic?

Probably none of them. Sorry.

None of them look particularly appetizing - I think its the eggs (I'm very picky about eggs) and random bits of carby looking veg.

I wouldn’t choose any of them without reading a description or asking the chef what the ingredients were.

To my chefs eye they all look like they have added sugar - there is probably a lot of hidden sugars in there, I stick to steak, dry grilled meats, salad, buttered veggies, no sauces but ask for butter/Mayo or EVOO unless it's a chain and I can see a nutritional guide, or in an independent eatery I ask what's exactly in it - there's also quite a bit of veg there whilst veg is good if your very strict keto it can stack up pretty quickly

There was a trace of onion - middle pic within what is minced chicken.

A trace of carrot. I tried to avoid the carrot.

I think you are right. One of them did taste sweet like Mr Pot suggested. Nice tip there, @Mr_Pot

This was a buffet meal, so I had some degree of control so no rice or pasta as you can see. The twisted stuff is squid.

Just seen it's a Thai restaurant- they tend to put sugar in sugar lol - I haven't Thai food since diagnosed 10 years ago - imho it's the worst cuisine for hidden sugars - I used to love Thai too :(

Okay. Gotcha there. Thanks.
