My partner has been diagnosed with Charcot foot and is currently in a wheelchair and a boot. My question is - is this condition recoverable so he can lead a normal life again or will this condition just need to be managed. Thank you

Hi Goldy31, does your partner have diabetes? I know charcot foot can be linked with diabetes but I'm afraid I don't know much about it. I think it's caused by neuropathy in which case (if diabetic) may be improved with controlled glucose levels. I'm sure someone with greater knowledge will be along to help, it must be a worrying time for you. x
"Does it get better? Yes. But it can take a long time. No-one knows what causes the Charcot foot, but it is a condition which persists for several months (sometimes a year or more) before it eventually settles, and the bones regain their strength." https://www.england.nhs.uk/north-ea...uploads/sites/49/2019/07/the-charcot-foot.pdf
