September blood test result was 66 and last Mondays test result was 51, sounds good to me I, ve no idea what the 66 and 51 means in my true readings
thank you. I,ve been on the victoza since 30th October so 3 monthsAlly - I'm so pleased for you, after all your struggles to find a way to keep this thing in control.
I just wanted to put your achievement into context though. As Simon suggested your 51 = 6.8, which equates to an overage blood sugar of 8.3. When we consider two things, I hope you can feel very proud.
Firstly, I'd ask you to think back to how high your numbers actually were, day after day. They weren't doing you any good, and I wonder if you actually feel any better, now your numbers are well down?
And secondly, I think you just need to think that the HbA1c point where diabetes is diagnosed is 48 (or 6.5% or the equivalent average of 7.8). How close are you now to a non-diabetic HbA1c??
Really, really well done, and I hope your result inspires you to try to trim it just a bit more, if you can. I feel proud for you.
How long have you been on your current medication regime? Is it a full 2-3 months yet?
thank youThat is wonderful Ally. I'm very pleased for you and hope you are proud of yourself. You should be, considering where you were not that long ago.
The easiest converter is here http://www.diabetes.co.uk/hba1c-to-blood-sugar-level-converter.html
Just type your HbA1c result in the middle box and it will convert if for you. Percentage on the left, mmol/l on the right (this is the unit we see on our meters)
10 stars for you.![]()
