You know, so often you get doctors who don't listen, are closed minded, or just plain see so much of something they've given up on their patients.

My GP, she's not very much at home in T2, but she followed my LCHF/Keto/IF adventure with interest and support, curious to see how it would go, and giving me any test I ask for, at any given time. She asks what I need, and gets it for me. (Except for strips, as they're only covered up to 40 euro's by my insurance. So that's not her fault. ;) )

She had an operation early January, she's still recuperating, and will be well into March. The assistants won't go into details, of course, but sounds like there was a cancer-scare, as I read between the lines.

And you know what?

I love my doc, so I sent her a get-well card.

Kindof the world upside down. But she's good people, she listens and she's good at her job, interested in her patients... I hope she gets back on her feet soon. (And it may sound weird, but by putting it on here I'm hoping the well-wish gets amplified and the vibes help, haha)

Just being grateful for someone in my medical team; Card is the least I can do.

Thank you @JoKalsbeek, Docs are human with all those frailties we all may suffer from.
They need our feedback and support as well.
Being able to give them a laugh to ease their day and sharing in some new adventure like a low carb journey to the centre of the Diabetes Universe.
Mine asks about how to make diabetes fun. Not easy to answer at the best of times but a shared adventure is one way.
I once sent a picture of a pig kite flying with the words: "Nothing Is Impossible" on it to my GP.
And my daughter and I made a small kite for displaying on a wall for her dentist.
Small tokens of recognition for work so well done and an affirmation that they have chosen a great vocation.

Extra "Karma" for you @JoKalsbeek.

One of my mental health consultants recently retired through ill health. I sent him a thankyou card with an essay on how I felt he had helped me wellbeing along.

You hear too many people criticise the health servicebut I think good work should receive some affirmation too
