Though nothing definitive... may/could...moderation is never a bad thing... filed under "poorly written unsubstantive".

They quote some quack sites as their sources of information, not any actual studies and I burst out laughing at 'Lowers your blood pressure' as a negative side effect. However, I have read there have been a couple of instances of them getting lodged in people's oesophaguses because they're so effective at absorbing water and swelling up, but soaking them first gets rid of that risk. I tried soaking them in almond milk a couple of times, but can't stop them solidifying in the bottom of the bowl, If anyone has a solution for this, I'd be delighted to hear it.

I make up about 60 g in 500 mls of coffee and by that stage they are a softish mass I then beat peanut butter and cocoa into...

I love them. Yes you need to drink more water with them as they are lovely little water suckers and can make you constipated. But lots of fibre is awesome and more water is not a big turn off for me.

I use 1/2 cup chia seed, 1/2 cup of good cocoa, stevie to taste (2tsp?) 1/4tsp cinnamon and 2 cups of milk. I beat it in my mixer for 5-10 minutes on high. Making sure to push down the side so it is all mixes. I have never had them solidify on the bottom using this method. Refridgerate for at least 2 hours, over night is better. I serve with double cream and a few rasberries... Yum Yum!!

I think it's possible that any food could end up causing someone somewhere some issues if eating it is taken to excessive extremes. More isn't always necessarily better, so it's best use common sense and eat everything in moderation, miracle food or not. But the most important thing to remember is that anyone can publish any old rubbish on the web, so always consider the source of the :wideyed:"information":wideyed: you're looking at.
