After being on LCHF for 2 weeks my BG has been constant 12.
Fed up with the regime decided to splurge on a take away (large) followed by a kitkat. BG dropped to 8
Back on LCHF back up 12+
Beggers the question, do chinese people suffer with diabetis

China is among the highest diabetic countries in the world, they have the same problem there as most of the western world. It might also be worth noting that your local take out is far from authentic Chinese food.

Not entirely sure without knowing exactly what you ate, how Chinese take out scored you lower than foods typically eaten on the LCHF, strange.

If you had carried on testing your blood sugars 3, 4 and even five hours afterwards you may have found that your blood sugars were higher. Sometimes we can get away with something like this but it may affect your blood sugars for a couple of days.
Welcome to the crazy world of diabetes.

I occasionally have some of the Sainsbury's Chinese range and find that it doesn't do anything too drastic to my blood sugars.

Simplest for me is to avoid Chinese altogether. I used to love noodles and chow mein but there isn't a decent takeaway near me anyway. I do a stir fry occasionally but it isn't very good without soy sauce.
Some Indian restaurant food is better but I'd rather mix my own spices and make my own sauces.

The high rate of diabetes in China is relatively a recent thing and coincides with the advance of western fast food and cake shops opening up everywhere. Since being in China I have noticed that while most food is healthy and nutritious, the Chinese, who are always saying they hate sweet food, are eating lots of snacks, most of which are high in salt and sugar. Sadly a far worse problem is the contamination of food with toxic substances, especially vegetables grown near polluted water!
