IME they need your hba1c to get extra funding. If it's good they get more funding irrelevant of what they do. They also need to ensure your prescription is right and with right amounts. After some negotiation i get this done over the phone once a year with a gp or if i'm in there for some other reason eg a child's appt i confirm the prescription is fine. This saves time for both of us.
