Cholesterol Testing

I'm not sure if you can buy the machines that the pharmacies use? I just go to my pharmacy and they do a test on their machine there for me... they told me their machine cost them $600. It seems a lot more finicky than our glucometers we use and you need to get a fair bit of blood for the test strip.

I don't think you can get cholesterol home testing machines. I did search online for something like that before.
ASDA, Boots and Lloyds pharmacicies do cholesterol test. I did ask in my local ASDA pharmacy and their cholesterol test costs £9. I forgot to ask if they give you a breakdown of HDL, LDL and triglycerides, or just the total cholesterol figure.

You can get testing strips that don't need a meter .. I did try them .. but it was so hard to match the colour on the strip with the card I gave up ..
