Cholesterol

Hi Dawn , some cholesterol is ok , too much is not, especially if it ends up in the arteries .. pretty well much what the article says.

Having recently had several TIA's ( mini strokes ) and one minor stroke , I need to try to lower the amount of cholesterol in my system , it's a question of risk and in my case the specialists tell me that it would reduce the risk of further strokes if I lower the cholesterol .

Having had a poor reaction to Simvastatin in the past( muscle cramps) I have been on ezetimbe for a month, and am about to change to pravastatin . I have been told that ezetimbe is not the best solution in my case , that statins will help lower cholesterol but also have additional benefits . This should reduce cholesterol and LDL, also reduce triglycerides and increase in high-density lipoproteins (HDL) .

A reduction in cholesterol will reduce the risk of heart attack and in my case further strokes, it's not really about my diabetes as statins can increase the risk of getting T2 , as I am already T2 Im not going to worry about that

Hey the same happened to one of my friends and the doctor told him that he needs to start organizing his day so he takes as much vitamins and fibers as he can, and he also needed to include physical activities. John went with playing basketball which really ended up great for him.. his cholesterol today is 3.9 . Hope I motivated you :)
