I have just worked out on carbs and cals that a 120g slice of Christmas cake with the marzipan and icing sugar will be around 120 carbs? Can someone please advise before I do a huge bolus that may make me I'll?

All I can tell you is that 100g of M&S Christmas cake is 63.6g so it looks like you might have miscalculated somewhat.

Fruit cake on carbs&cal is 73g for 120g. My advice don't eat it or half it

@tnbnate, I would be very reluctant to take a high dose of insulin so close to bed-time, you might spike but come crashing down 2 hours later, if were to have a slice I'd make sure it was a small slice and eaten after a main meal.

Agree with @noblehead as tempting as it can be try and eat a small amount - i'd be a bit worried taking a huge bolus of insulin so close to bed time.

If you're really tempted try some earlier on in the day and see if you get the bolus right ?

Personally I used to make my own cake but now with type 1 I don't bother
