Yesterday I made a full Christmas dinner for a dear friend who has had a rough year and who will be away for Christmas- we had turkey with stuffing, roasties, mash, sprouts carrot and swede mash and cabbage - nice thick gravy, bread sauce & cranberry sauce, Home made Christmas pudding with cream (being home made there was NO WAY I was passing on that! ) - no alcohol though :(

As I had just had my bloods last week I did in indulge in a little bit of everything

wanted to see how I would do so tested
Before meal 4.9
2hrs after 5.5
3hrs after 4.7 - bedtime so had to have a little turkey butty  as anything below 6 and I usually hypo during night

I know I couldn'ty do this everyday but sometimes we deny ourselves these occasional treats when really there is no need to - as long as it is occasional and we don't hit the slippery slope of thinking we can get away with it all the time - it's good for the soul

You remind me of something the nutritionist said when I did DAFNE earlier this year.

We went through the various food types with us saying what they were for until she got to the treats and asked "So what is this food group for" We all sat there silently looking at eachother completely confused at which point she said "To stop you from being completely miserable"
Brilliant. All things in sensible doses... now if only I can get a grip on what a sensible dose of wisky is :P

Glad you enjoyed.

That was very kind and thoughtful of you lovinglife to do that for your friend!

Those bg numbers are excellent..........just think you have it to go through all again on Christmas day as well! :D
