All this talk about cost of postage has reminded me I'd better get myself organised and write out the cards before it's too late for 2nd class. What I hate are those "round robin" newsletters that people send out. I don't care that Tarquin has got a first from Cambridge and Amanda is now playing with the Royal Philarmonic as first violin, and Cecily is now with the Royal Ballet dancing in swan Lake (OK a bit of an exageration but you know what I mean) If your news was that exciting shy didn't you give me a call if you wanted me to know? I also cut down on my cards for friends that we've not seen for years. We had some friends who we always popped in to visit on our way to the West Country, but I know her brother lives in the next village, but did they ever pop in and see us? Maybe it's not in the spirit but if they can't make an effort why should I?

Christmas cards ....well today I was in a pet store , a well kell known one and they were collecting 50p for doggies and cats to have a Christmas dinner , well I bought a few had to , much better than stamps ....I am selective these days ... :)
I also remember a story from NHS days when a frail person was admitted , with no one in the world as a friend , the ambulance team saw a Christmas card that the person had written to themselves .... :(

Let's spread the word ......
A friend I have known for years , always pays for someone's shopping in a supper market at Christmas , often a parent in need or an older person ...
Just random choice , but what a lovely thing to do ....

You're missing a trick there, if you just keep the cards you can put them up every year and save yourself the trouble of buying and writing new ones :D
