My partner is 32 and has chronic calcified pancreatitis he is also insulin dependant diabetic been told t2 but waiting for a urgent appointment with diabetic clinic where I will ask about t3 he is massively struggling at the min with both illness he is in constant pain his blood sugars are high 20s everyday all day, we have just been RE referred to gastro at our local hospital as we had a major dissagregment with his specialist (Dr makin at mri) so having to start from the beginning to get anywhere he has stones in the head of his pancreas it is just a never ending cycle and don't seam to be getting anywhere he has vomited quite a few times the past week or so which usually means he is blocked up again he can eat next to nothing without feeling sick and has lost 7 stone in less than a year. What consultants are around the north west who will actually put a plan into place without banging on about coming off oromorph before they will touch him. Sorry for the long post and not really diabetic related but someone somewhere may be able to help thank you x

Hi,
I'm so sorry for what your partner is going thru, he obviously needs the oromorph. It may be spiking his blood glucose. Has he tried morphine tablets?
The consultant shouldn't want him to stop his pain relief.
I can only advise you seek a second opinion via his GP.
Is he on any diabetic medication like Sitagliptin as this can cause pancreatitis?
Chronic pain can raise blood glucose.
It must be a very worrying time for you both.
I hope he finds a decent dr.
Good luck and take care
