When I was first diagnosed T2 in 2008, my HbA1C was 9.9. I immediately started taking a home-made honey+cinnamon paste each morning before eating/drinking anything else (very important). The mixture is usually 1.5 teaspoon of pure honey plus 1 teaspoon of powdered cinnamon.
I was also taking 2 x 500mg Metformin daily.
In just over one year, my HbA1C came down to 6.1 -- when I informed my diabetes nurse, she encouraged me to keep taking the honey/cinnamon paste.
