I have type2 Diabetes, which is controlled by meteor in. I get an awful sensation in my toes on one foot, which I’m assuming is down to low circulation in that area. I have Arthritis in my knees, how can I help to increase the circulation my foot?

I jiggle my legs up and down while sitting down to help my circulation, I also have a torn meniscus cartilage in my left knee which benefits from the jiggle.

A few years ago I spoke to a GP and he suggested to keep my feet active to avoid or keep at bay such conditions that you mention, using a treadle device to keep the feet active. The type used in old sewing machines. He said a patient of his used one at work, under her desk, to help blood circulation.

Hi there - Sorry about your troubles.

Firstly, you assume the issue is to do with circulation? It could also be a few other things, including s touch of neuropathy (nerve damage)

For circulation: If you are a smoker, giving up would defininetly help with the circulation. That's an absolute given, in my vie.

Other factors that could help would be staying active, trimming up a bit if you need to, keeping your blood pressure in a good place.

Some of those things could also help your nerves, but really the answer is to see your Doc to properly identify the underlying cause.

When in the air force and standing in parades for long times in one position a trick was to raise your self up on your toes slightly then back onto your heels and rocking back to raise the toes slightly this helps keep the blood flow going.

All of the toes or just some? Any other part of the foot affected? When does it happen and under what circumstances? How long has it been going on for? Do you have a bad back? Smoke? drink alcohol? BMI high? All the kinds of questions you need to answer when you seek professional help.
