After Carefix posted about cis-oils (linseed and hemp oils) a number of people started taking them on a daily basis,me included.Are people still taking them? If so do you feel any benefit form doing so?I still take them on a daily basis mixed with low fat yoghurt and cinnamon.

Hi, all

I was diagnosed as Type II just before Christmas 2007.

My BP was 204/88 (!) and by BG was 10 (12 hour fasting). The doctor's initial diagnosis - "you may have a problem!". He has a somewhat droll sense of humour :shock:
He started me on the following: Ramipiril (5mg), Amlodipine (10mg), Simvastatin (40mg) and Metformin x 2 (500mg) per day, plus Aspirin (75mg).

BP is currently down to about 150/78 and BG about 7.2 as of the latest test (27/03/2008).

I started taking the old Cricket Bat Juice about a fortnight ago now - too soon to tell whether or not it's making any difference yet, I think. I take about 45ml (3 tablespoons) a day, with skimmed milk and cinnamon (recommended elsewhere) and I don't really mind the taste of it, although the cinnamon tends to make it somewhat bitter. I am also trying to avoid all trans fats, of course.

The stuff I use is from Holland & Barrett but I might try the one that Virginia Harvest sell next (it's supposed to taste better :?: ).

I will keep this thread updated as often as I can regarding the outcome of the "Cure". 8)

Cheers,

... Jim

I tried the oils but they made be sick. I am now trying capsules plus hemp/flax seeds (I sprinkle them on my shreddies). I have 3 tsp cinnamon a day (not sure if this is the right kind after reading Dennis' posting on cinnamon - anyway it's Schwarts powder from supermarket.

I haven't noticed a reduction in BG but I haven't seen an increase either which is a good thing.

Will keep experimenting as I would like to avoid medication as long as poss.

Regards Val

Hi All,

Did take linseed and flaxoil for about two months along with 3 capsules of H&B Omega 3,6 and 9 capsules and have noticed a general improvement. Stopped the linseed and faxoil but continuing to take the H&B capsules with no appreciable change so will continue with capsules alone for the time being, morning readings have come down to 5-6.5 level so expect an improved Hba1c figure in 4 months time

Hi Hank - nice to hear from you again. I decided to take the capsules route rather than the raw oil and followed the Eye-Q recommended 12 weeks on triple dose, followed by normal dose since then. Eye-Q are a combination Omega-3 and Omega-6 capsule. I actually did about 15 weeks on the high dose and have been on the normal dose (2 capsules per day) for the last 6 weeks. I must say I feel a lot better and a lot less sluggish than I did before I started taking them.

In my case the overall cholesterol level was not bad at 4.3, but within that reading the HDL was too low and the LDL and triglycerides were higher than they should be. I just had a lipids blood test this morning alongside my HBA1C so it will be interesting whether the Omega oils have made any difference to the HDL/LDL/TG balance.

Just a word of warning here, oily folk.

Linseed oil is what we chemists call a 'drying' oil, so if any of you ingest the raw oil and spill some, don't wipe it up with a towel and screw the towel up in the bin.
If you do that it can (seriously!) burst into flame, and that IS unhealthy.

Lay the towel out flat until it dries and then discard it.

Ask any cabinetmaker. Some have died as a result of drying oil fires.

Dangerous world we live in, wot. :wink:

Just been tested again this morning:

BG = 8.1
BP = 158/78
Cholesterol = 5.2

My weight is about the same, at 15st 1lb (211lb or 95.7kg).
BMI is 31.98 :x

Ramipiril has been increased to 10mg, all the rest remain the same.

Having my HbA1C, etc. checked again in another 3 weeks (I was never told what it was the first time).

Will keep you updated.

whitemare,
you're effectively telling us that 'carefix' is giving us instructions on
how to burn our own houses down with us inside! :shock:

it's ultimately a cull of diabetics, thus removing our burden on the
NHS and saving our "anglo-american alliance" government
millions of pounds. Money which, I've no doubt, will go straight
into Gordon Brown's "Secret France Invasion Fund" instead. :shock: :shock:

After all his talk of "conspiracy theories" it's 'carefix' who's doing
the "Wet work". :shock: :shock: :shock:

I just hope he can sleep at night after cashing the company cheques. :mrgreen:

Today's results (23/05/08):

HbA1c = 6.4 (was 7.7 originally)
BS = 6.0
Cholesterol = 2.4
BP = 136/74

Kidney / liver functions normal.

Simvastatin now reduced from 40mg to 20mg daily.

All heading in the right direction so far.
Still taking the bat-potion :wink:

I bet you are over the moon with these results. Are you still taking 3 tablespoons hemp oil a day?

Regards Val

After 6 weeks, I've moved on to the 'second phase' now; 2 tablesppons of flax oil, 2 tablespoons of hemp oil and 2 teaspoons of fish oil per day (blended with youghurt + a little cinnamon).
