Cleared out my carb cupboard

A bit late, I know, but I thought it was time. Out went the crunchy nut cornflakes, the Weetabix, the oats, the crispbreads, and the last remaining chunky KitKat. However, before I threw them out I had a handful of crunchy nut (I've given up milk) and one Weetabix with butter on (I used to love buttered, sugared ones). I then had a sourdough sandwich of chopped ham and pork, with mustard on. My Libre didn't like that combination at all. My blood sugar took nearly three hours to return to baseline. And to think that was what I ate most days in the before times! I didn't feel all that good after eating it either. The cupboard is now full of low carb goodies: lots of pork scratchings, low carb pasta, various packets of nuts and a few packets of 85% dark chocolate.

I want to award you a ‘winner’ for clearing out your carb cupboard, but I really can’t as the sampling of your old carbs wasn’t a winning action IMHO. Sorry!

@IanBish . I guess the experiment reinforced what you have learned about how your body reacts to carbs. I guess it is not an experiment you would like to repeat anytime soon? Though, I guess any should you be tempted by carb indulgence the screen shot of the Libre result could be a good deterent.

Oh and well done for clearing out the carb cupboard.

I didn't feel like one either once I'd felt the effect.

I'm sure it wasn't the sourdough, as that seemed fairly okay before. It was those "healthy" cereals!

They're all in the bin now, you'll be glad to hear. On to carb hunting in the freezer next (I doubt there'll be many).
