Hello I am 43 and diagnosed type 1 four years ago. I seem to have been in the honeymoon period up to about 9 months ago. About two years ago I took up indoor (wall) climbing. I wanted to get fitter again and it was something that I had enjoyed in my youth. I took advice from my specialist nurse and everything went well until about a month ago. I now find that I can only do 3-4 climbs (about half an hour) whereas before I could do 10+ over a two hour period. I suspect that this might be to do with the last remnants of the honeymoon period being over. I am toying with the idea of taking lots more lucozade etc with me and injecting through the exercise period.
How have others coped with 1-2 hour periods of extreme exercise?
