I have been on it for several years now.My bgl used to be high, but recently I have started using a low carb diet, and my levels have dropped to pre-diabetic range, so it is probably not the Clopidogrel.
I note that NICE has just changed the prescribing guidelines for this med, but my GP says it does not affect me.
Are you prescribed the stomach protection (Omeprazole)? You should be if this is a long term strategy. Need it to prevent ulcers due to acidity. Aspirin also needs it but not in NICE guidelines.

I am on long term aspirin as have had a stent implanted had a medication review with pharmacist the other day who was surprised that I had not been prescribed clopidogril but then added that aspirin was probably just as good.

You have made me wonder if I should discuss it with my doctor or not.

There are new contraindications for it that might apply. See the following to check if it would suit you.

I see that Omeprazole is now contraindicated, but I think this is if you were taking it for some other condition. I was prescribed both together, I remember Clopidogrel combines two other meds I was originally on, aspirin being one, but I cannot remember the other one. It meant 1 tab instead of 3.

It acts as a blood thinner, so my fingerpricking is more effective, but I do not get severe bleeding. The surgery vampire also finds blood drawing is prolific, but again I have no problems stemming the flow after. I think aspirin can give more problems with bleeding gratuitously. Talk to your doc since long term use of aspirin can lead to later compllications.
