An awful lot.
Someone sorry not remember who or wherrsaid to make coconut butter blend down coconut flakes and just that.
My old hand blender died part way through last night so tonight we gallop out to get another.

Hub texted me to say you have to add coconut oil and sugar. No way in hades is sugar going in but anyone know regards coconut oil.
To me looked like was getting moist without just as blender bust.

Many thanks

MID

No need to add anything else, just keep blending! I did find one recipe that included a bit of coconut oil but none of the others used it. Good luck and let us know the result :)

Slightly off topic but I'm really chuffed today as I'm now able to get KTC coconut oil in my local supermarket for just over 2 quid a pot as opposed to over 6 quid a pot for the Groovy Food brand one I was previously buying.:D

Thanks Beachbag will do.

Toto several recipes in the chocolate paradise and low carb recipe thread call for it and it is stupidly expensive for what it is :-)

Wow big drop l got our oil from a shop called Unicorn they also send it very good coop specialise in vegan food. Absolute cave of wonders to walk round

Hey Beachbag or others who are in the know. How much do l need to grind. It is runnyish but not fluid has a bit of a gritty bland taste never had anything to do with this before though. And also stored in closed bowl on side or should it be the fridge?
Many thanks
MID (not usually let loose in the kitchen so this is a treat for me

That coconut oil from Groovy Food brand is not very tasty, I did a test of many brands on the UK market, because I both eat it straight out the jar and put in my coffee/tea, for the later the taste doesn't matter. Happy share my findings http://lowcarbhealthyfat.com/2013/07/31/more-coconut-oil/

:) That's about the right consistency and it does have a slightly gritty texture unless you grind it in a very high powered machine. It doesn't need refrigerating, will keep in cupboard for at least a couple of weeks. Enjoy :)

ermm not a success. we decided to empty a full bag in and added the stuff done so far and used the lid on top blender thing. Inital went well but then It was clogging so split it into 2.
Hub tried with new hand thing but only use 1min then off for 3.
I was using the the main blender but it was getting hot so stopped it for 15+ mins.
Went downhill at this point hub went back and l heard him wizzing seemed to go on and on for several mins so yelled only a min dont forget.
He said not using "them"
I shot in he had it with hand mixer (things for cakes) in a glass bowl sitting in a pan of boiling water on the hob
I yelled you cooking it don't cook it you ruined it didnt stop to taste and threw it in the bin
umm we are talking again
He will try when l am not in the house promised not to cook it.or put it near any heat. or add anything
Just googled about 20 different recipes to prove to him you dont put it over heat
you dont add vanilla (he wanted to)
you just blend coconut and nothing but coconut like you told me to.

Not helped by a toothache throbbing means dentist trip on Thursday way it is going no chance tomorrow just ibuprophen up

Oh bu***r! Thought you'd cracked it. Would love to be a fly on the wall in your kitchen, lol.
Ouch! to toothache and huge sympathies :(

Have you got any clove oil in the house MID? It takes the edge off a little until you can see the dentist.

Scotch l am a non drinker ick

Last time l used clove oil l got an almighty bo***king from my dentist not to use it it burns the gum.

So following time l used about 5 different topical pain things...he first fixed the tooth then informed me that if l had not actually caused huge gum burns from my efforts his work would have sorted it...instead l would have to enjoy mouth burns till the skin grew back.

Since then l ibuprophen and see him asap.

He makes me laugh gave me the best info when Brian passed that helped me cope and has been brilliant to me.
If l scream loud enough will deaden otherwise "that isnt a loud enough scream so it doesn't hurt and l am not deadening you for a mins work when it doesn't hurt"

One time first in in the morning he said wait the autoclave isn't working
OH? need instruments
No warms the room am not working in a cold room... hang on... (to his nurse) ok scoot and hide under the stairs you know what to do.
I gazed on bewildered.
He rang upstairs to a partners surgery and got the nurse to come down, asked aimless questions and then his nurse walked in jersey wrapped round her.
He sent upstairs nurse off
His one pulled new door seal from under jersey swapped with upstairs autoclave

And Andy is terrified of dentists so l had to ask if he would take Andy on. I am full sorry
Deep sigh oh well ... at end of consult he said to his nurse ... whats my patient list like.
Totally jammed you can not fit another one in... sorry
He turned to me huge smile said Get him to sign under me tell reception.

Andy went to see him said he never felt so relaxed in the dentist nor had he ever laughed there before.

Tooth root abscess so anti b and paracetomol with ibuprophen
And Andy is having another go at the butter.
I am banned from the kitchen

MID:(

So after all the drama Andy has a lovely batch of coconut butter...
I then checked which of the 3 recipes he is making needs the butter...it isnt one of the 3 we choose
l think l read the comment the coconut batter as coconut butter :banghead:
