Anyone taking this and how useful have you found it to be
Taking small dose of statin but have cramp brain fog and weaker muscles so about to try this

There's a number of answers unfortunately. My experience was that they made no difference. That may not be the case for everyone, although if you google "does CoQ10 alleviate statin induced muscle pain", you will find several different answers.
I was unable to get advice from my GP and it's not in the BNF so it can't be prescribed, there's also several suggestions as to how much to take. I tried several amounts and again if you use Google, you'll get several answers.
There's also a question mark over the quality of the CoQ10 that you use. I know people on other forums take CoQ10 for other reasons and are pleased with the results. It could be a case of suck it and see.
Sorry I couldn't be more help, it's not that straight forward.
I do know all about muscle pain, sleeplessness and brain fog. I stopped taking statins and still have brain fog after 6 months. It's worth noting that my total cholesterol is still only 5.4, not perfect in the eyes of NICE but what do they know? I could lower that by exercise as I have done in the past.

I think you'd best be advised to look at the "healthspan" website for some guidance. In their last information book they had an article about statins and coq10 and sterols..

However healthspan do sell a huge range of vitamins so may be biased? I take c0q10 200 strength from them. They never relieved the pain in my legs, but did help brainfog. I continue with them as they are recommended whether on statins or not. I'm not on statins cos of the huge pains and depression they caused me.

Ubiuquinol is now the ultra strength coq10, but too expensive..

I take coQ10 because I have an underlying deficiency (I'm not on statins). My brief experience on a statin was horrendous because it blocked what little coQ10 my body can still produce - it was this that led to the deficiency being diagnosed - so it seems logical that if you take statins coQ10 supplements will make good whatever coQ10 the statin blocks.

I find the Sainsburys capsules the most effective - coQ10 in oil in a capsule is absorbed better than the tablet form that the other supermarkets stock. I now take 200mg a day.
