Cold feet

I have very cold feet and socks don't seem to make a much of a difference, they don't seem to be damp from sweating , I have been reading about Diabetic Silver socks but there not cheap has anybody tried them or what socks do you suggest.
 
I use Gentle Grip - I used to have quite bad lower leg/foot oedema and they did much less damage. I don't have the cold feet issue so no idea how they'd shape up for that.
 
At a guess I would say that you are not getting enough blood to your feet if you are not generating warmth when the feet are insulated,
That is only a guess, though.
 
I would guess that it's something that is in your genetics , I suffer from terribly cold feet and my mother who was non diabetic suffered the same so I would say it's probably nothing to do with my diabetes .
 
Has it always been like this (like Reynaud's), or is it something new? If circulation has always been a problem, maybe look into socks (and maybe gloves too, if hands are similar) specifically for people with Reynaud's. Otherwise, I rather love alpaca wool, it's warmer than most other fibres... No experience with socks for diabetics with poor circulation, sorry.
 
It's been like that for as long as I can remember just something else I've had to live with .
 
If it is a very long term thing then possibly some kind of heated foot warmer?
Are you looking for something to keep your feet warm when you are out and about?

Funny enough I'm looking at them now on Amazon, reviews are not too good and some are quite expensive, part of the problem is I had a quad heart bypass few years ago and they took the vein from my left leg from the sole of my foot to right close up in my groin to use as a replacement, thing is though both my feet are cold
 
My dad and my ex both suffered from Raynaud’s and every Christmas and birthday we would give them socks - the ubiquitous men’s gift
However, these were pricey pure lambs wool and both men swore by them, especially the hiker’s socks they got one year.
 
I've always had cold feet. I wear Corrymoor mohair socks, have done for many years, but alpaca would do the job too.
 
I’m the same, constantly have cold hands/feet. I think it’s just how your body is- I’ve had it forever and years before I was diagnosed, now still the same and I have stable blood sugars and am very active. Maybe bring it up with your doctor next time but I wouldn’t worry too much x
 
Just to point out be careful of putting anything that applies direct heat to your feet, I don’t know if you have any loss of sensation or feeling in your feet but if this is the case you may not feel that the heat is too hot and this could cause damage to your feet that you may not notice and create a lot more problems.

My hubby always has cold feet (not diabetic) he always puts his socks on the radiator for a few minutes before putting them on, my friend who does a lot of fell walking always swears by 2 pair of socks to keep his feet warm, one thin pair a bit like silk then a thicker pair on top (I think they may be specifically for hiking/climbing so maybe check out hiking socks) apparently it creates a layer of heat between the two layers, don’t know how true that is
