Feet like ice can be due to many things.

First: Being at the end of your legs they get a poorer circulation than the rest of you.

Second: Hot air rises and the temperature difference between the floor and the ceiling in a room can be large. You say your room temperature is 18 - 22. So it's 18 at what height above the floor. In my house my cat complains a lot since he is always nearer the floor than I am.

Third: Diabetics suffer from circulation problems and it can get to be a big problem. If you think your cold feet are due to diabetes then contact your doctor.

Im always cold too but have been like this for ages long before diagnosis. Not sure if it has anything to do with diabetes

I used to have really sweaty feet- horrible. For the past 10 years that has reversed. They are always cold, blocks of ice. Thats why I always ensure I get my annual foot check... Last time the podiatrist said I had the best diabetic feet she had seen... ( there must be some awful ones out there!!).. However I do always have excellent pulse in my feet on the check ups and feeling... So it doesn't mean to say that the coldness is diabetic complications.. Mine certainly isn't.

I too get really cold hands. I work outside and yet its onlly inside that I notice they are cold.

Full body wise though I raely feel cold anywhere else.

As long as I have my regular checkups, podiatrist etcI don't link the cold extremities with my diabetes.

Interesting to read other people also feel this coldness too, perhaps I should change my thinking about cold extremities and diabetes...

I went to New York in January 2009, there were sub zero temperatures. I haven't felt warm since. My basal temperature is about 36.3 degrees. I'm fed up of feeling cold. I've started wearing an extra layer of clothes and ignoring when I feel a bit warm to try and raise my basal temperature.

I've had my thyroid tested and my TSH level is normal, although I think there are further tests that my GP could do.

I am cold all the time, the house is draughty and the heating system not great. My feet and particularly hands are freezing, but I was like that pre diagnosis. Three people gave me hand warmers for Christmas! I don't think mine is diabetic frost.

Yup cold all the time, but I doubt it's diabetes related! I've noticed it more so this winter but I put that down to dropping 1.5 to nearly 2 stone pre-diagnosis (I only went to the doctor when I noticed I was losing muscle mass - whoops!) and so I don't have fat on me to keep me warm! Constant battle in our house over the heating, I'm shivering and my partners in a tshirt saying he's warm! My hands are by far the worst, my feet used to be bad too but I invested in some expensive but very cosy slippers. My best investment yet!

I'm always cold and never can get warm sitting in the house at night - poor boiler in churning out as much heat as it can in this cold weather too! It's a fairly new thing for me that's developed over the last 12-18 months - mine affects all over not just hands and feet. Sat here writing this feeling cold :crazy:
