Hi,

As I am a typical tight Yorkshire lass I throw very little away (Gordon would be so proud of me). I have a huge bag of used stamps, I just wondered if anyone knows of any collections of used stamps that go purposely to benefit Diabetes charities? I have in the past donated them to other charities such as Guide Dogs for the Blind etc but would like this huge batch to go to something that means more to us now we have first hand experience of Diabetes.

Kind regards

Hi, sounds like a good idea. I have sent you a PM (hope it works it is only my second one and not really sure what I am doing)!
Thanks

Hi,

I've registered with the site as I have loads of stamps I'd like to donate to a diabetes charity. I'm not sure if yorksherpud is still around, but if there is anyone who can give me details of where to donate to I am more than happy to send off a box load. :)

The address to send used stamps to is:

Mr T Jackson
16 Hazelwood Court
Outwood
Wakefield
WF1 3HP

Please say that you have collected the stamps in aid of Diabetes UK – Mr Jackson will send DUK £50 for every 25kg of used stamps he receives.

what kind of stamps are we talking about here? like special stamps? or ordinary 1st and 2nd class stamps?

How does it raise money?

As I understand it all stamps are welcome, the ones that are collectable are sold on, and the ones that aren't are recycled.

Regards, Tubs.

Hi Stu,
Sounds like you were never a stamp collector! The stamps are generally sorted into UK and non-UK, bundled into bags of ½kg, 1kg, 2kg, etc and are sold to stamp collectors around the world. The stamp collectors magazines are full of adverts selling bulk stamps, most of which have been collected to raise money for charity.
