Hi
Recently I have been tapering off 40 mg fluoxetine per day to 20mg. Im not depressed at all.
But I've noticed my bg rising inexorably by 0.2 mmol/litre each day and I don't think I've changed my lchf diet.
Any ideas???

your stress levels may be increasing, just enough to raise your blood sugars, but not enough to impact on your life, as the sedative affect of the fluxotine wears off.

I have been stopping fluoxetine after 9 months of 10 mg/day. I had lost 28 pounds and got my blood sugar to snd A1C of 5.6 even after stopping Metformin. It has been 3 weeks and I’ve gained 9 pounds and my blood sugar is rising - quite a bit but steadily. I am exercising and eating well. I’m training for a sprint triathlon and have not changed my eating habits significantly. Definitely not to gain 3 pounds per week! I have trouble sleeping and some other withdrawal effects that I found in the literature. But the blood sugar increase is very concerning expeciallly as it is not food related at all. just last night it has been above 100 and increasing steadily to 130 at 5:30 am when I woke up. I don’t want to go pack on fluoxetine as I had very diminished sexual health, but this is very concerning as I got my blood sugar under control since being diagnosed last August (with and A1C of above 12) with diet and exercise (and Metformin originally). Any ideas?

I am not sure if this will get noticed as this is an old thread perhaps a mod could redirect it?
