Hi everyone,

You may have read the announcement today by the forum administrator Dan, stating that due to abusive e-mails and pm's to himself and the moderators, he has had to take drastic measures and withdraw their contribution for the time being, whilst investigations ensue.
Now I respect Dan has some very difficult decisions to make over the future of this great forum, we should show respect and await the outcome.

I have noticed for some time now, that there are a few individuals who are hell bent on disrupting and causing trouble for this forum. Some are former members who have joined another forum elsewhere, where they continuesly call the good people of this forum and that of the moderation team. These are spiteful individuals, who think it is amusing to call us all 'inmates of the asylum' and other demeaning names, for no other reason than having a different view to diabetes than themselves.. This all boils down to the fact that on this forum we all have different views and ways to manage our diabetes, and things are openly debated and discussed, as opposed to their own forum where they believe there is only one way, and all duly follow without question. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that these people are behind a lot of the unrest on this forum. They have taken it upon themselves to cause disruption, and persecute one of our moderating team, who has given good sound advice on this forum to new and old members alike, and who many hold in the highest regard.

I hope common sense does prevail, and these spiteful people do not get there way, and we can all return to having the best diabetes discussion board forum on the net.

Well said Nigel. Sad little people with sad little lives, and not really worth bothering with?

Well said Nigel,
This forum seemed to have turned a corner, becoming far more balanced, with people less reluctant to express individual views.I have been saddened by recent events.
In the recent past there were a small number of posters, some with multiple user names (so it seemed that there were more of them) who fermented arguments on this forum, causing not only the loss of several experienced and knowledgeable posters but quite probably resulted in the loss of many newly diagnosed people as well. From the sidelines of another forum they are still fermenting problems.
I too, hope that common sense prevails.

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to the moderators for all that they do, this forum is such a useful tool for getting help and helping each other and they make it safer for us to use – so thank you all.

I hope that this issue can be resolved very swiftly and normality can be resumed.

Sometimes the very fact that there are people who are intent on causing strife makes for a great deal of stress. It is unkind and hurtful and does not help any of us.

Dear all,

I quite agree with everything posted so far. However, for the sake of new visitors, let us keep this forum for its intended purpose - discussion of diabetes and support of people with diabetes.

I am sick of the politics and the personal attacks. The next phase in the forum will be designed to keep things running as smoothly as possible and eliminate any chance for vendettas to arise.

I am going to lock this thread because I see no constructive purpose in open debate, and cannot stand another battle. Rest assured, I am in discussion with the people that count and the next phase will carefully evaluate every option.

Kind regards,

Admin
