As a newly diagnosed Type 1 you will need a little time to adjust your Insulin dose to match any carbs you are consuming. You will also be in the 'honeymoon' period where things don't remain the same from day to day, week to week. Any adjustments you make need to be carefully monitored by testing frequently.

Not sure that you have had the Basic Advice for Newly diagnosed that my pal Sue and I put together. Matters not if you are T1 or T2 there are things in there that can help you gain better control of your Bg levels. Have a read........

Hi there, you were on the high side to begin with, so that probably accounts for part of the reason you went so high 2hrs later. What bread did you toast and how many rounds? If I'm having bread I stick to Burgen which is about 12g carb per slice. Check the carbs in the bread you're having.

Also, as Ken said, you're only a week in so your levels will naturally be all over the shop as you adjust your diet and insulin doses to suit your needs. Don't panic! I was exactly the same after diagnosis.
