Concerns following a long overnight Hypo

Thanks Simon - I had reached the same conclusion myself - I've already lowered my Basal from 8 to 6 units, so I'll monitor things and see what happens. I inject my Lantus Basal in the mornings.
Reducing my Basal level to 6 units has made a big difference - I haven't experienced any night time Hypo alarms for the last few nights. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I would like to add to the other comments that I would suggest writing down as many of the potentially blood sugar affecting factors you may have experienced; food, exercise, alcohol, stress, doses taken and timings, as you possibly can, both from that day and the previous day. It helps to do it while it’s fresh in your mind. If, when, it happens again you’ll have some details to compare to.

I was going through the same thing and had to reduce my Basel from 17 down to 14 , it worked for a few weeks but then my need for Basel slowly crept up again and I'm now on 16 Basel , you'll find it doesn't ever stay static and from my own experience over 49 yrs it is allways changing , which is better realised now with the use of cgms .
