So I was diagnosed with T2 in Nov 24 (Hba1c 57) I was put on metformin and linagliptin. By Feb 25 I had lost a stone and by the Oct I had lost 3 stone and my hba1c was 41. At my ideal weight and BMI. However I had started to get severe diarrhoea daily and a few times vomiting a week and got duodenitis. Gastro consultant stopped the metformin. By January in spite of my diet still being good I had put the 3 stone back on and my hba1c was 49 although the duodenitis healed. I tried dapagaflozin and ended up with thrush three times in a month so severe I was bleeding. Dr started metformin again. Back to the diarrhoea but no weight loss and now wear a CGM and it shows 30 hypos out of 36 days. Now some of them were ‘false’ or in the night where I had laid on the sensor. Others only improved with dextrose tablets and caused nausea, sweating and shaking and difficulty focusing. The one that concerned me the most went down to 2.8 while I was driving and I had to pull over immediately. My sister luckily lived nearby and brought me a glucose shot (she is also diabetic and her team had supplied her with some). This was only 2 hours after eating. I had been at my mils for lunch and had rice and peas, a roll with pate and salad followed by two choc chip biscuits that were pretty small. These have been happening regardless of what I’ve eaten or when. I’m scared to drive as I had my children in the car. My dr didn’t believe me until I showed her the data from my monitor. Her solution is to switch me from the oral medication to mounjaro. I also have fibromyalgia and FND and severe pain so wondered if this would effect things? Can’t get hold of Dr or diabetes nurse so spoke to the pharmacist and he said it sounds like I need to be tested for LADA and that I need to ask my dr for a referral to endocrinology. I wasn’t huge before I started the diabetes journey but now my bmi is 30 which is the highest it’s ever been by a long way. I also had gestational diabetes that wasn’t picked up with my first son (that was a horror story) and my second son I had to inject insulin from 16 weeks as they couldn’t control with diet. I also have ADHD so am finding this really hard to manage. Any ideas from anyone would be gratefully received. I’m really fed up. I’ve attached some of the data. All I ever get is your numbers aren’t that high but they climb steadily with less medication and I’ve always been symptomatic even with prediabetes. For reference by last child was born 2013 and I am 45.
