Dear Member I was always told I was type 2 diabetic but during that time I never had a C peptide test. This year I pleaded with my diabetic nurse to give me a blood test to test if I am type one diabetic as I couldn't put my glucose levels down even though I had been a meat only diet for year. my results are

I then was transferred to St thomas hospital and got these results and the consultant wants to say that I am now type 2 diabetic then retracted that. here are the results

My reaction is that you are T1 as your GAD is positive. C-Peptide goes down as your beta cells decline so the reduction from 2000 to 1000 would indicate that decline. It looks like you are in the honeymoon phase?

thank you so much , just dont understand why the consultant would say I'm type 1then retract it. the only change I have notice is that since being on insulin my kidney pain has stopped and no more keytones in my urine. I always had high keytones no matter what I did.
