Confused about my blood glucose readings

Recently my BG level has decided to be a bit pants and stick to being high. As an example I tested myself, it came up to be 24.0, I did a correction dose of 5units of Apidra which should bring me down by 5 BG levels. An hour and a half later I tested myself again and got a reading of 23.8. This result was straight after eating, after washing my hands. My CD seemed to have no effect at all!! It's driving me nuts and I would appreciate any comments from people who have been through this before.

As some background info I'm a Type 1 diabetic of 2.5 years. Not currently ill and just finishing exam season.

How long since you ate?

Have you changed needle and checked your device is injecting correctly?

Have you adjusted you bolus and long acting insulin?
