I have been diagnosed with T1 two weeks ago am using lantus insulin 12 unit every 24 hour and novo rapid 4 unit with meal however I have not noticed any changes in my Glucose blood level all my bg test are above 17.18 and after meal it goes up above 21 the only low level I get which is below 14,13 and thats when I wake up first thing in the morning am I doing something wrong any advice thanks

If your blood glucose results are ranging between 13 and 21 on the insulin you have been advised to take you should probably contact your diabetes team it sounds like you need a bigger dose of insulin. I'm not sure how it works for an adult but for my son he has so many carbs per meal and snack and his insulin is based on the amount of carbs he is eating. Maybe someone with more experience will be able to give you a better answer , i hope you manage to get it sorted though

Sounds like your dose and your diet need adjusting. Are you T1 or T2? sorry should have read more carefully

Your blood sugars are certainly still too high, so that points to one of two things. Either your insulin doses are too low, or your intake of carbohydrates is too high. Maybe a combination of those things.
4 units of Novorapid per meal is quite a low dose, although obviously dependent on what you eat. Can you tell us what your typical meals consist of? 12 units of Lantus perhaps isn't too far off a reasonable dose, but if your intake of carbohydrates is too high it probably won't be enough to keep your blood sugars down.
As a final point, a non-diabetic's blood sugars will hover around 5 mmol/l for most of the time. Long term, those are the sorts of numbers to aim for.

I eat normal meal chicken,meat,fish bread rice I have no idea how much carbohydrates in it also how do you no the amount of carbohydrates you eating its abit hard also there was no glucose in my urine sample which is abit strange . and I am a smoker which am trying to give it up

You won't go wrong with meat, chicken and fish, all of which are foods high in protein and very low in carbohydrate. They won't raise your blood sugar unduly, and are full of valuable nutrients.
Why don't you cut back on the rice and bread, because they are large sources of glucose and will raise your blood sugar level significantly.

Your story highlights how dreadful diabetes care in this country is now. When I was diagnosed 20 years ago next month, I was taken straight to St Georges Hospital, and when I was sent home I had a Diabetes Liaison Sister visit me every day at home to check my control, and insulin doses.
Out of interest, were you given the option of animal insulin? What you are taking is not insulin, but a synthetic form of it. Purified pork or beef insuin should be offered to newly diagnosed patients, as the analogue "insulins" suchas Lantus do not work for everyone, and can have unpleasant side effects-read my previous posts if u like, and defo contact the IDDT for futher advice.
Priority for you is to get your sugars under control, you need to get back to your diabetes care team and sort this out-you must feel like ****.
