Hellos again,

Please correct my understandings, does a hypo occur when you are eating as you should be, but a rush of insulin comes along and sends you to a low reading???

I have always craved or needed sweet things in my life, yet since having prediabetes, ( which has been a very long time ) ... this must be called more than a craving when you have to eat something sweet as if your life depended on it? After eating there’s a sugar rush but feeling nothing sinister is it this sugary feast what causes me to wake with headaches and feeling pretty much detached from myself??

Also what is a Hyper and how does it effect us?

Okay I now understand that this diabetes lark isn’t going to ‘sorted’ by taking an extra pill

Hypos often occur when a person is unwell (if you think a common cold can do this easily) or in the summer months (as in hot weather the sugar burns off more easily). Its not always about a sudden rush of insulin but where a persons metabolic functions increase or decrease (often illness is a key player).

A hyper is when someone ingests too much of a substance that sends the bloods into the high reading levels (think 25 plus). It can effect people in different ways - such as excessive sweating, mood swings (think about angry outbursts) etc.
